If you have the emails, send those. They should have the heads up about her. Many times I recommend people who are buying here in Canada, contact the CKC and ask about the breeder. They will tell you their status and whether or not any complaints have been filed. If you send it then they have something on record.
I am glad your little puppy is doing ok and you are right likely not raised very well and that is why he was so skinny but gained weight once you got him.
