Yes, I wrote it. I wrote this when a friend's Dalmatian passed away. It helped me when I wrote it too, as my grandparent's dog, Mitzi, passed away years before this, and I couldn't believe how much hurt was pent up in there. We got Mitzi for my grandfather (who really wanted a little dog) as a surprise. He cherished that little furbutt for 16 years until he passed on. She then went to live with my aunt and uncle, who cherished her for another 2 years until she passed. Mitzi was my best little friend growing up.
