To those who have lost a pet. I'm not sure if my poem is allowed here at YorkieTalk, but I hope that it is, because I wanted to bring some sort of consolation to those who have gone through the tragic loss of a family pet.
If my poem is not allowed here, I will understand and will ask to have it removed. Whose Hands The feeling is all too real,
Of love and loss and sorrow.
For when a pet passes away,
We may think there are no tomorrows.
Please sit back and breathe,
Take comfort in this my friends,
That the Maker is with your pet,
Please have an ear to lend.
There is no more pain and stiffness,
No less quality of life,
No more whimpering and medication,
No more daily strife.
The sparrows were sold for pennies,
Small and weak were they,
But not a single one fell,
Without Him knowing they were on the way.
Losing a pet is heartbreaking,
A hurt that breaks you to the core,
But please be embraced by the fact,
As much as you loved them He loves them more.
They have a wonderful life now,
A life where they are free to run,
Run without fear of injury,
And days full of unequalled fun.
Each animal has a soul,
It was designed that way from the start,
And for each of us there are animal souls,
That scurry their way into our hearts.
Please let me console you,
In this time of heavy loss,
Though they were once your pet,
The hand that pets them now is the same as on the cross.
I know losing a pet is difficult. However, I take great comfort in the fact that I am certain where they go when they are no longer here.
Even if this only helped one person out of hundreds, I'm glad. |
