Most small dogs are great natural watch dogs. They alert you quickly to anything going on outside or inside your home. Small dogs, as we know, are great little "barkers."
A watch dog and a guard dog are different things. Watch dogs "watch" and let you know that something is going on. A guard dog is a dog that will attack, fight, and guard you from harm.....especially if trained to do so.
