Default When buying a puppy

I have noticed a lot of people looking for a puppies and I thought it might be time for a post about hints, tips and things to remember when looking for a puppy. I will post some of the things I suggest and maybe other people can add other things. I am not judging anyone who hasn't done these things when getting a puppy. I was not informed when I got Callie and didn't know about brokers. Short story Callie came from a broker who was getting his puppies from a puppy mill. I just wanna try and help inform people and hope it helps.

-A reputable breeder will not sell a puppy before 12 weeks
-All pet stores that sell puppies sell puppy mill puppies no mater what they tell you
-You really should see where the puppies are living/being raised. To make sure its clean and inside, not it an out building, outside or a shed.
-A breeder that sells mixed puppies is not a good breeder.
-I would be leery of a breeder who has many many puppies at one time.
-Make sure the breeder does health testing on the breeding dogs
-Make sure you get a health guarantee
-You want the dog to be registered trough AKC
-There is no such thing as a teacup it is just a ploy to sell tiny dogs and normally make people pay more for them
