I agree, I would not put Cali In a kennel,but figured I would rent one of the cabins and bring a baby sitter for her, so I could make it work.
That being said, we have no problem with traveling ( just got back from Tonga,where Cali loved the beaches). Sarasota would be fine also. Would just enjoy the Yorkie company anywhere
