My two hated it and we ended up just getting a potty pad holder for their pads. Apparently mine hated the sides but liked pulling the grass out and shredding it. I swear I found little plastic green pieces in their poop for a week straight! They also figured out how to pull the pads out when we used those. For us it was more headache than it was worth. It will all depend on the puppy if they like it or not. I would try one first and then if the pup likes it get a 2nd. If not you can find a locking potty pad holder on dog.com for a decent price.
