Default Torn acl.

My yorkie is twelve yrs old. She had a torn acl in her left knee two yrs ago and we did the surgery. Surgery went well and she was fine. Last yr she was diagnosed with kidney problems and a slow growing tumor in her anal gland. She has fine all last year and suddenly Christmas Day she started limping. Took her to the vet and she has a torn acl in the right knee. She is not eating and is so sad. My vet is telling me that I should not do surgery because of the kidney and anal gland tumor problems. He thinks it would put too much stress on the dog. It is breaking my heart to see my little girl not able to walk and now she is not eating. Any suggestions? I have read crating for a while might heal a torn acl. I am not crating her, but she is not walking around because of the pain.
