I bought the basics and bought inexpensive versions before I brought Max home. It turned out to be the best plan for me because I had no idea what was right for him. If you have had a YT before, then you will know more than I did.
Something I wish I had the first night was an x-pen. Other essentials as noted above: piddle pads, bed, dishes, white karo or nutrical for emergencies.
