I have been using a warm saline solution and a cotton ball on Bubba's eye boogies. I follow that up with flea comb, then more saline just for a clean rinse. It has worked really well.
To get them used to it; I would do just a quick dampening, praise him and let him go play with a toy, pick him up 5 minutes later, do the same thing. Did it this way for a couple of days, now he will sit and let me do it, I just talk him through it. I still try to be very quick, I can imagine its uncomfortable for him.
After reading all the posts, I am definitely going to start him on the Gerber water tomorrow and keep everyone posted. It's great that this has worked for other yorkies and I hope it will work for Bubba
Best of luck to you.
