Every dog is different. My boys don't mind wearing footwear at all. Some dogs hate it. When I first put socks on Max he would try to pull them off with his teeth. He had to be trained using the 'leave it' command. He doesn't touch them anymore.
You can also take a look at the Mini Meshies. They have a velcro strap, unlike the socks:
