Makes me crazy in the head when a coworker will come into my office and chit chat while mentioning they think they are coming down with something. Ok, so get the H**L out of my office!! I'm not overly concerned if people stay home for the first day or two then come in and still have a cough or whatever - they are not usually catchy at that point.
Rather than calling in to tell your bosses you will work from home, what about approaching them today, telling them you are feeling under the weather and don't want to get everyone else sick so you would rather work from home for a few days until you are feeling better.
