 Pita has a broken elbow =(
Went spent to holidays at my parent's house and last friday evening Pita was running down the front steps to thei house...3 steps to be exact and she mis-stepped, did a roll and start yelping. It was the most horrible sound! We brought her to their vet, they did an x-ray and saw that she had broken her elbow. The vet said the 'good' news is that it wasn't completely detached and hanging and that it was aligned, not rotated. The bad news is that we have to keep her strictly confined for 2 weeks. No pressure, no activity, really no walking at all accept to use the bathroom. We are to hold her or in her crate she stays. Then we can allow her to put her paw down for a few minutes a day for 2 weeks. No major activity for 6-8 weeks. Pita is so full of energy and spunk, I just hope this does not crush her spirit. It is sooo sad to see her in her crate so basically I carry her most of the time. Please keep her in your prayers for a quick recovery and healing. |
