Rosie was 4 years old when I got Mikki. She was the only furchild too and beyond spoiled.
Mikki was a little over a year old so she was not really a puppy. Rosie was jealous but if you really want it to work it will. I just make sure that Rosie still gets that extra special mommy time. When daddy comes home Mikki gets her special time from me. The biggest problem I had at first was fighting. Getting a puppy may make it easier. I am not sure about that. With that said, I do not regret getting a second. I would do it all over again because I love both my girls.
