MMom,

I agree with chachi, IF you say you're a Breeder, you'll probably need a Business License.
But, does the area you live in, permit Businesses (HOA/Zoning) ?
Then, check with the Health Dept, if there are any stipulations there.
Do you think you could just "ease" um in, and not say anything about it to anyone ?
How nosy are your neighbors ?

HA, all that sounds SO negative, but I'm actually rooting for those little guys getting into a better (your) home,
even if they're just passing through
