Joyce, this one the fabric is fairly thin,and being that I got the lightest color does not help with the lighting issue, but I would think that the darkest colors would help keep the crates darker.my girls LOVE their crates now, Chanel is pregnant and she used to nap under the bed, now she naps in her crate which is FABULOUS for me, because I can keep an eye on her from my bed..
