You could get a tray, one that has a slight lip to it. Place a little soil on the bottom, this will help the grass thrive, and then place the grass on top. Pick up the poop daily, and try to water the grass regularly. Watering it will help keep the urine smell down as well as dilute it. It will soak up alot of water, remember that it doesn't have a huge soil base to pull water from. It should thrive pretty good.
