This is the last dinner we will be eating this year so we always make it a special meal.
We will start with pre dinner drinks perhaps a sherry and a chat.
We will follow this with an appetiser of Pink Salmon and Rice Cake
The table will be cleared and reset for the main meal during this time we will have our first glass of white wine chased by another sherry or two.
The main meal will be roast pheasant with all the trimmings accompanied by red or white wine as desired.

After a period of table chat the final part of the meal will be Apple Pie and Ice cream followed by cheese and biscuits and the inevitable coffee.
Tonight we have 18 guests for the last meal of the year so we have our work cut out so I have relieved Joan of her kitchen duties for this night.
Soon after the meal we all retire to the main bar to spend the rest of the evening and to bring in the new year in a true Scottish manner with all the fireworks and music along with dancing on the patio.
The champaign (pink or white) will be free flowing for those who like it.
A good night will be had by all.
