Most of us do brush their teeth. It is better to start when they're puppies, so they get used to it. Some yorkies can avoid dental cleanings just by brushing, while others just have yucky teeth and no amount of brushing will prevent the annual dental cleanings. I would brush his teeth. You can start by putting him in your lap and using a finger brush and work up to a regular toothbrush.
