The Vet did the drawer test, said there wasn't enough movement to be a luxated patella...so didn't do xrays cause ligaments don't show up. I asked if she thought max would need surgery, was told that most dogs under 30lbs. with ligament damage would heal on their own.

I did alot of research on the net about his condition, and much of what I found agrees with the Vet. Basically keep them quiet, no walking jumping etc.

Should see marked improvement after 8 weeks, if none then it's time to re-evaluate.

Bottom line is I'll do whatever it takes to get Max well, but I think I'll try the conserative approach first.
