I guess the issue is not giving him enough room inside or outside his kennel, or allowing him to empty his bladder before bed. When he is allowed to sleep in the bed he goes all night with out even needing to go outside, but place him in his kennel at night and some day times and he will 95% of the time go to the bathroom in it and then lay in it. He has even peed on his little bed we bought him for his kennel.
OUr other puppy has never used his crate to go to the bathroom, its his place to sleep and his little safe cave. However, Giz just doesnt seem to have this concept and I believe its from the 7 months with his previous owner.
So here is my question, if he does not understand that his crate is for sleeping and not the bathroom how do we change this mind set?? |
