Welcome back ! congratulations on your new Yorkie.
I would like to comment on your post. I am on here almost every day, and at first my feeling got hurt a lot. I was not used to people expressing dislike for my ideas and methods. For years I taught training classes and have been apart of the dog world. So I was used to people coming to me with questions and asking for advice. But, on YT anyone can answer or comment. I gave what I thought was good advice and was rebuked by some one with a totaly different idea of how to correct guarding behavior. The same poster always seemed to have an unkind remark about what I said. I was about ready to stop posting and go back to reading only. I don't know who (sorry) but some one said to me, 'say what you want and to and quit saying you are sorry when some one dislikes what you say. It is ok to disagree.' So I have kept posting.
I know some people get very passionate and some times jump to the wrong conclusions. When reading we do not have the visual cues, voice inflections and tone to help us interpret exactly what is being said. Sarcasm, teasing, or gentle suggestions can all be misread. Some posters shoot questions out like bullets and don't realize, how they sound like a bad cop looking for a confession. Some people are not good at writing thoughts, feelings, advice, or instructions. Not all people can sing nicely, and not all people can write well.
I also see the same questions over and over. If the answer is long and involved sometimes I just tell them to read old threads or give them a link. I don't want to say the same thing almost every day. Most problems are not unique or rare events.
Some people do not stick to what they know. They give off the cuff advice without knowing what will really help. I avoid answering most medical type questions because many other posters know much more than I do.
In summation, I would like to say Yorkie Talk is a wonderful site, packed with information and good advice. Even if I never posted another word, I would still be here every day learning new things.
