Congratulations on your new baby boy.
Is it possible for you to create an area (with some gates) outside his crate so that he has a bit more space? This way you can leave the crate door open for him to go in/out as he pleases. Lay down a wee pad in the area outside the crate and teach him to go there...??? Just a thought.
