Living in southern MD for many years, I saw first hand how the Amish treat dogs. They are considered livestock and treated as such. They live in barns and out buildings no better then chicken coups. A favorite Amish trick is to breed a Yorkie male to a Silky terrier female..a normal size breeding Yorkie female of 5 to 6 pounds has a very short breeding life in a mill..so they use larger Silkies. I got so disgusted with the Amish, I wouldn't so much as buy eggs from one.
