I look at getting a puppy much like adopting a new member to my family. And for any adoptive member of my family I'd want a closed-adoption, not an open-adoption. I want my pup to be mine...not feel like I'm raising someone else's pup...if that makes sense.

Anyone else feel this way....or is it just the only-child in me screaming, "mine, mine, mine!"
I don't understand that. They don't tell you how to raise your yorkie. They may make suggestions or offer tips but that is for your benefit. Most have been doing this for a long time and know a thing or two.

What happens if you dog develops a condition? Or has food issues or training issues? You would want a breeder around then to help. But if you have no relationship with that breeder that isn't likely to happen.

I have a great relationships with all the people I have sold pups to. I hear from them often. I never tell them how to raise their pup but do give tips and suggestions anytime they ask and they seem grateful to have someone to go to that they can trust.
