My son had his first T-ball game on Saturday. I was finally feeling better after being sick for what seems like forever and decided that Tia and I should go with my daughter to watch. We had to leave Sandy at home because she is not good around other peoples' children (poor baby

Anyway, two of the Mom's from Drew's teams have Yorkies and had brought them along too - then another lady from another team brought hers' over as well! Poor Tia was the only little girl among them, and one of the little boys (Bruiser!) kept trying to mount up. I kept separating them, but I was surprised that Tia just hunched down and was ready to let him do his thing.
Anyway, I thought it was really cool that there were so many other Yorkies there and was having a great time until they started talking to me about breeding. I guess Bruisers Mom is planning on breeding him, and then, of course, they asked me if I was planning to breed Tia. I told them, no, I have no experience and Tia's ears are floppy so she's not a good example of the breed. What got to me was that they kind of tried to convince me to go ahead and do it "Oh, well you're not going to show her so it doesn't matter anyway --- they'll only be pets...etc"
It caught me off guard and made me feel uncomfortable, I never thought I would have to defend my right NOT to breed my dog - weird.
Anyway - it
did get me to thinking about breeding. NOT with Tia and not for years down the road, hopefully after I get involved in the show world. After having read some things about it, I've decided I'm going to do more research to see if it's something I may be interested in. -- so that's different for me, I never thought it would be something I'd even consider, but I'm researching it to see at this point.
