I look at getting a puppy much like adopting a new member to my family. And for any adoptive member of my family I'd want a closed-adoption, not an open-adoption. I want my pup to be mine...not feel like I'm raising someone else's pup...if that makes sense.

Anyone else feel this way....or is it just the only-child in me screaming, "mine, mine, mine!"
Ha ha, Joey's breeder has never made me feel like that. I know she will be a valuable resource if I ever need to make any important health decision. I also depend on a great relationship with my vet, but having Joey's breeders input will make me much more confident in my decisions. I think it’s important for breeders to stay in their clients lives because otherwise, how will they know what type of job they’ve done? Anyway, Joey's breeder is more like a good Grandma, not a surrogate mother.
