I'm so sorry you are facing this decision.. it is so painful..

When we were faced with putting my first dog to sleep, my neighbor commented one day how we'd "know" when it was time... I said, through my tears, I don't know - but I have to trust that somehow, I will know. That day came soon after, when Freeway was unable to eat, drink, swallow, or sleep. He had cancer, and his belly was so bloated it touched the floor... He could barely move... He enjoyed his last car ride, and we were there with him until the end... It's crazy how your heart just knows... I can't explain it, and I have no idea how I found the strength to do it. That was 2005, and I'm in tears just typing this, almost 7 years later! It is not something I will ever forget, but I know we made the right decision... Novemeber 11th I went with a friend to put her 15 yr old cat down... Gosh did that bring back memories.. it just never leaves you. Even the smell of the alcohol, etc. took me back...

Enjoy each moment and know that little Paris will let you know when it's time... Whether he has one more day, or one more year - he's had a good life and is so very loved - in the end, this is all our furry babies ever want!!! He is so lucky! My prayers are with you.
