As most of you know I am a strong supporter of dogs always wearing ID tags. I believe the need greatly outweighs all opposition that I have heard regarding safety in not wearing them. So with that being said I would like to share what happened today and once again a tag brought my Bogey home safely.
A few months ago I ordered new ID tags for all three from
LuckyPet.com with
Owner Alert. They are very well made, engraved and well made. Owner Alert was an additional fee of $9.95 when I ordered the tags but covers all three tags and any tags I order in the future.
Pebbles was not feeling well for the past few days and I decided it was time for a vet visit. As I was pulling out of the driveway, the ComEd (electric) meter reader was pulling into my neighbors driveway. They use a "gun" to read the meters from their car and pull into each driveway as they work. Normally, they are able to read my meter this way as well but since I was pulling out of the driveway he skipped my house and went to the neighbors house. He must have then gotten out of his car and went into my backyard to read my meter because he would not have been able to do so from their driveway. (I'm going to try to be nice

) The stupid moron, idiot, foul, @$$jack LEFT MY SIDE GATE OPEN after coming into my yard

My teenage daughter was home and Bogey and Doodlebug wanted out to potty. She let them out and didn't pay attention or notice that the gate was WIDE OPEN!

I always stay and watch when they are out but of course the kids think I'm a crazy dog lady and never do as mom does. Long story short~Bogey took off! We have lived in our home for almost 20 years. It was a very quiet dead end road until last year. The county put a 4 lane 40 MPH road through and it's not quite busy. Bogey headed straight to the road.

I of course have no idea any of this is going on because I am in the vet's office but my phone is ringing........dang thing is always going off ! As soon as I pay the bill ($172

) I check my messages and I have 2 VMs and a txt.
The first VM is from LuckyPet that Bogey has been found~~I didn't even know he was outside let alone missing! They left their 800 number and asked that I call them back which of course I did immediately. I was relieved to hear that he was safe
but the man that found him said he their was NO ANSWER at my front door! HELLO......where the HE!! are my two kids and whj are they not answering the door! UGHHHHH!
As I am driving at break neck speed toward home and talking to the LuckyPet rep she was just wonderful! Very calm and reassuring that Bogey was fine and that the man that found him was knocking at the door with NO ANSWER. I hung up with her and tried to call both of the cellphones~NO ANSWER

All they need to do is open the front door and there is a man standing there was Bogey!
Unlike my moron children LUCKYPET is wonderful! The phone calls to multiple phone numbers to myself, my husband and kids alerting us to Bogey being found. The TXT msg was just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.
