bacon beans...YUM continued 4. After the onions, beans and butter have began to "melt" or "sweat" I add in bell peppers and celery. I prefer the mini bell peppers in red, yellow and orange ans they are sweater than the large ones.
5.I never measure seasonings I just cover the top mix it in and taste.
6. I let that go for about 30 minutes to one hour until the bell peppers and celery are soft but never let them get mushy. I add in my spices: peppercorn black pepper, sea salt, Italian seasoning, and Morton's Table seasoning-I also add some Italian dressing for some tang (I occasionally add in about a table spoon of soy sauces, a tab bit of brown sugar and maybe a Knorr chicken bullion cube). |
