I've used perfume on my dogs forever....
My dogs wear Chanel #5 - Opium - Obsession - and Oscar de la Renta. (It has to be a perfume that I want to smell and wear myself.)
When they go visiting or after a bath - I put a drop on the top of their head and a couple drops on their backs.....(sometimes I just spray a little on a couple of my fingers and run them across the hair on my dog's back --- not near their face or nose).
They smell no more of this than they do after I put a little perfume on myself - (and probably less) because it's on their back.
Plus as they run around - I think they add a little flavor to my house.
I've done this for more than ten years - A bottle of perfume will last my dog for years!!!
I think a little perfume is a wonderful thing to add to your dog before you go visiting. And only a little - because no one likes strong smelling perfume!
A little is better.....
***** The alcohol in perfume evaporates immediately - and it never touches their skin.
Don't take that away from me!
