I just want to remind everyone to check for holes or broken slats in there fences. I always let my girls out in the backyard by themselves for only about 5 minutes at a time because I am so paranoid, but I also make sure to check the perimeter of the fence at least twice a month. Even if your dogs dont usually dig holes, you may have neighboring dogs that do, so its a good idea to check.
Another suggestions- I used to have a problem with my next doors neighboors grandchildren would somehow get thier toys over the fence and into my yard and they used to help themselves to my backyard to retrieve them, which could have been okay, except they could never properly shut my gate and I wouldnt even know it was open. I could have lost my dogs several times had I not caught that the gate wasnt shut properly. So I put a padlock on my gate and a "beware of dogs" sign to keep everyone out. It has worked like a charm
Safety is key! Yorkies(and other furbabies) are too precious to let something happen to them
