My Romeo has only slept in his crate the first night I brought him home (at 12 weeks old). He was such a tiny pup that I just felt badly leaving him in a crate while I slept in my bed so the second night I put his bed on the floor right next to my bed. Needless to say I was up all night checking on him. So after maybe a week or two of this I moved him up to my bed and 2 1/2 years later that's where he sleeps.

I have noticed however that most nights he likes to catch a couple hours sleep in the living room (guess Romeo needs alone time) and around 1 or 2 am he'll make his way into my room so that I could put him on the bed. The wonderful thing about letting Romeo sleep on my bed -- if I wanted to sleep late on weekends he would too -- the little boy will sleep a solid 12 hours on the bed as long as I am there with him!!!
