You are absolutely correct. Many dogs have gone into rescue simply because someone's lifestyle changed. Adult dogs are the best bargain on the market! Just like a new car loses its “value” as soon as it drives off the dealer’s lot, you pay a premium for a new puppy. That first year of the puppy’s life take a lot of work and dedication, and buying an older dog may have the bonus of being housebroken already!

Besides, Yorkies retain that “puppy look” their whole lives anyway. Four hundred dollars buys a lot better adult dog than it would a puppy.
