A hot spot is normally associated with an allergic reaction (flea allergy).
You are only treating a symptom if treating the hot spot with an antibiotic ointment.
You still need to identify the case and ensure you dog doesn't need an antihistamine or oral antibiotics along with a treatment course for the cause of the hot spot. |
