Now that my time is done,

I’ve left the only ones I’ve ever loved,

Who will call me now?

Who will call me for loving

Who will call me for treats

Who will call me just because

You loved to see me run to you?

God gave us human hearts to love

God gave humans (just some of them)

The ability to see us heart to heart.

So I wait as God decreed,

For the only voice that will call me love

Just near these pearly gates

You, you and I, that love matched

Will walk together; through them one day,

Someday soon.

Until then, who will call me to my final resting place?
