I sit here holding Marlee, and the tears just flow…I am praying for a miracle. We brought her home tonight, with a ‘guarded prognosis’. She is not responding well to the valium and muscle relaxant, they have given her two doses of phenobarbital, which seems to help her rest.
With mycotoxin poisoning, it could be 24-48 hours, or even longer. They feel that she likely has brain damage as she won’t hold her head up and turns it to the side. I keep thinking for a little 6.2 lb dog, she has had a lot of meds! I am going to be hopeful and know that she can be healed. Our instructions were to keep Marlee still, warm and quiet. So I sit here in my dark living room with my light of my Christmas tree...praying and softly singing her lullabies.
She had one seizure since we have been home (it was about 11:45 PST). It was a moderate one and lasted about 15 minutes. I have her wrapped in her favorite pink minky blanket and she is sleeping in my arms. I am hoping to catch a little sleep...I cannot begin to tell you how much your prayers mean ti me, thank you from the bottom of my heart! |
