Isn't it the YTCA that determines the standard used by the AKC?

I agree that the weight requirements as written may be unreasonable healthwise for Yorkies of today. However, it is my understanding that weight of a Yorkshire Terrier is *not* a conformation disqualification either.

Regardless of size, a Yorkie is a wonderful and beautiful companion and, like all our furry friends, one we should not judge based on its size but rather on its many other fabulous attributes and especially on its love, devotion, and its spirit.
