I think keeping my girls happy and healthy in our fenced in back yard is pretty responsible. I don't feel the need to put her through the surgery when it is not life or death . Surgery is a big risk no matter what surgery . She's not running the town she's in my house or playing in the backyard. |
Its scary how far away male dogs can smell a female in heat, one day at the clinic i work, a lady showed up with her in heat female yorkie, and they had a siberian husky follow their car from their house cause he could smell her. So you not only have to worry about them never getting out!!! You have to think about the huge dogs that can get in, and will do anything and everything to get in.
But NOT spaying is NOT RESPONSIBLE!!!! I think if you read up more on it, its way less risk to spay than it is not to!!! Very few dogs have complications during spay. And who cares if they have a scar???? THey CAN DIE from not being spayed. Pyometra is very common in intact females, and it can kill!! Plus your poor little dog spending its whole life going in and out of heat, for no reason, when it can be stopped, i dont understand why there is not already enough reasons to just get her spayed!!
