If your not able to get a urine sample, then the Vet can perform a cystocentisis (pass a needle through the side of the abdomen into the bladder). This is performed frequently in the vet office as outpatient procedure which means it should be really easy for the vet to get it done in a easy office call. I have had to do this several times for my one's that are to get samples from. I have never had problem with it being done.
