I will sometimes put a few kibble bits instead of a treat in Sophie's Kong and then she'll head straight for her bowl of kibble. It acts like an appetizer.
I usually do it when she brings me her Kong too many times for a treats. That's when I slip in the kibble.
I guess it's more interesting for them that way, lol.
