My male is 15 years old and wakes up teeth first since he was 5 years old. I feared he would have a heart attack as I tried to ease him out of that behavior, so I just make sure he's awake before I touch him or pick him up when he's asleep, and I just remain calm and talk gently to him until he regains his composure. Something like, 'Oh my! You want to bite your Mommie? Oh my goodness!' ad nauseum till he realizes the error of his ways and licks my hand instead. Time and Patience. |
