The pet shop had cover all her medical bills so I only had to pay out of pocket for the emergency visit to the first vet But now to make a choice.. the vet says she off the IV meds and has been doing better, but they would like to take another culture to see if she has a resistant bacteria thats slow the healing process.. which would cost out of pocket 230 dollars.. What do you guys think should I do.. the vet says other wise everything else is ok... she's eating, playing, getting on like a puppy should only that she still had the inflammation in the lung. she said she could come home but I don't want her to get sick. HAS ANYONE HEARD OF A RESISTANT BACTRIA IN PUPS? please get back to me.. help

I would definently have the test done. I work in the "people" health care and we have to do cultures to make sure we give the patients the right antibiotics, some just won't do the job, so it makes sense that dogs would be that way too. And the cost of trips back to the vet and changing abx will add up fast. Not to mention that your baby is not getting better and could get sicker. Good luck!! My rescue Hope had inflamatory pnuemonia 2 rounds and the secound turned infectious. There was alot of complications and it was very hard on her. They never did any cultures ... I wish they had, we had to keep switching abx..... the cost really adds up fast
