Default Horrible new carpet smell

Hi all, I am hoping you can help me. I posted this in the wrong forum, so I am posting it again here. I moved to a new apt. and the tipping point to move was that it would be better for my new doggie. I had to postpone getting her twice already, once because of the move and then again because of the horrible chemical new carpet smell. The breeder won't send me the dog until the smell has subsided because Beanie might get sick from the smell. I am supposed to get her around the 1st of the year and she is already 6 months old.

I had a carpet cleaning guy come in and spray something on the carpets that he SAID would get rid of the smell and was non toxic, but it is now WORSE. I am so upset, I don't know what to do. I haven't tried to have it steam cleaned yet because I am afraid that might make it even worse.

My question is, has anyone else had this problem and did your dog get sick?? Also, does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to get rid of the smell? I have tried opening all the windows all day long when I am at work. I even have them open today and I am freezing my rear end off.

I just am beside myself because I want my dog!! It is my first time having a dog and I waited SO long and did so much research on finding the right person to buy from and now I can't even have her. I have attached an updated picture of her, she is already changing colors and doesn't even seem like a puppy any more.
