Animal Smiley 019 Meet Brody and Mia

HI, everyone! Meet Brody and Mia !

Brody - Blue/Tan - born 3/21/10 - weight 6.3 lbs. on 5/14/11
Mia - Golden - born 3/16/10 - weight 6.0 lbs on 8/27/11

Brody is 1" taller than Mia, who just has shorter legs than him, but they are the same length, same neck and chest size, and only a half inch difference in hip size separates their measurements, so I just tuck one under each arm and off we go ! Mia's tail was docked way too short, and I just love Brody's un-docked, European-style tail !

Actually, any docked tail (clipped ears, or any other body part) is cut too short...but that's just my opinion...I believe such details should be bred into the dog...I do not approve of not in cutting the dog down to fit the desired size and shape ! Whatever, huh ? ;-)

Brody and Mia are perfect companions for each other. We got Brody first, then we babysat an ex-show puppy Shih Tsu, a few months younger than Brody, about six (6) weeks later, and the two (2) puppies had so much fun together that after she went home he would go and lie down where her kennel had sat, looking sad and forelorn....his little chin flat on the floor, looking up with those adorable little sad Yorkie eyes peeking up through the top knot 'escapee' wisps of hair. So...I went online looking for, and found, another Yorkie, a female, Mia, who was looking for a new home, as a companion for Brody. All creatures need friends of their own kind...and we couldn't be happier ! ;-)

Incidentally, Sunny, the Shih Tsu, had so much fun here with Brody, that she managed to bolt and pull away from her mommy...twice, as she was being taken out for walks...to chase blue pickup trucks like ours down the street...scaring her poor mommy half to death. She is such a love and, while her own mommy says she cannot get good photos of her, Sunny deliberately poses for me to take photos of her any time I ask her to...or when she sees my Blackberry smartphone camera pointed at her....she's quite the little ham !! She also leaped off a counter, where she was being groomed, when I entered the room, trying to get to me...I think she knew she was going to gt to go to 'puppy camp' and play with Brody again. Luckily, she was not injured, and after our hearts...her mommy's and mine...started beating again, and we were certain she was all right, we were okay, too.

Both Brody and Mia are very silky and incredibly shiny...very smart, sweet, devoted, and loving, whether they are in your lap or tracking and digging up critters in the yard. Mia lost all her black when her coat started changing, and Brody's coat colors are still evolving and changing, and I think his colors are just gorgeous. Both get raves and compliments from all who see them. One lady, who saw them immediately after I picked them up from the groomer's said, "I'll take one of those. Now, which one? I'm not sure I could choose..." and neither could I ! ;-)

Both Brody and Mia were clipped very short when they came to live with me. Brody was in a "Puppy Cut" but his ear tips didn't appear to have ever been clipped...still had the full range of black to silver to blond...so I tipped them because I couldn't stand to see his ear hair hanging into his food. You also could not see his eyes at all, but I've pretty much remedied that as well.

Mia was in what I have lovingly referred to an a "Dumbo Cut"...real short body hair and long ear hair on the tips that was shorter near her head...but not as long as Brody's was. Disney's "Dumbo" looked good with long ears, and I do like the Puppy cut, but, while Mia and Brody are cute no matter how they are clipped, I can hardly wait to see them in full coats.

Mia's former Mommy said "Mia won't wear a top knot"...and I am pretty certain Brody never had one either...but I think my 'Little Boy Blue' Brody and my 'Goldilocks' girl Mia look 'fairy tale' adorably gorgeous in bows. Prejudiced !! Me ?? Perish the thought !!! ;-)

In the photo with Pink and Blue bows, they had just come from the groomer, Tenille (hope I spelled that right!) at My Yuppy Puppy (MyYuppyPuppy.com), a terrific lady who does a great job with their mini-cut/face/paw/ear/etc./mini-trims, but the Pink and Black, and matching Brown/Lilac bows were just after I had given them their regular bi-weekly baths. I take a lot of photos of them...you probably didn't know that ! ;-)

Both of these beautiful Yorkies had previous homes, but needed the kind of love, attention, and devotion ONLY a totally little-finger-wrapped, Yorkie lover can provide...and we are eternally grateful that we were allowed to take over loving and caring for these charming little babies.

Sorry it took so long for my introductory post. I never got an email to validate my account with...and I couldn't figure out why I could not view the photos you folks have submitted...so I went looking through the fourm info finally got everything squared away. After seeing your adorable Yorkie babies, I just had to let you see photos of mine, too!

Thanks for reading this 'book' about my Yorkie babies! Take care!
