My thoughts on 'blue borns' is that they are more common than 'breeders' let on. I wonder if in the past~just from some stuff I've read~that they would be 'put down' right away & not even tell people about it happening!! Like it was considered a shameful sign they were a 'bad breeder' or something because this happened to them?!?
One of my old neighbors had 2 completely white boxers!! She said the breeder was told to 'put them down' because of potential health risks because they were not 'breed standard' but she couldn't do it!! So she gave them to my neighbor. She had them 10 'healthy' years before they started to go deaf & blind & ill~so she ended up putting them down at that point. But 10 years for a boxer~I think that's a pretty good life!!
Anyways~I just wonder if the 'blue born' thing has been blown out of proportion by some super~radical breeders~like the 'white boxer' "not breed standard so kill it" thing?!? Just a thought?!? |
