I finally was able to purchase "The complete Yorkshire Terrier Book" by Joan B. Gordon. In one of her first chapters she talks about the way yorkies use to be grouped! You know there were three divisons!!
1st under 5 lbs
2nd 5-7lbs
3rd 7-12 lbs
Even though it seems like 1966 was a long time ago ,it really isn't. That is when they changed the AKC to MUST Weigh under 7lb
So when someone says stupid things, I would just say something like DID you know... and explain . My girls are both over standard 7.5 and 8lbs , I like them that way, as I breed them and they are strong healthy and both big enough to have babies without the worry. (Of course I still worry, but so far I have been luck!!)
So, now you have one up on the stupid people..
