Oh, it makes you feel so terribly guilty, doesn't it?!! But look, you're doing the very best thing - having someone to come and stay at yours instead of boarding him out. At least he's among his familiar things and smells!
Is he very used to the person who's staying? And might it be possible for that person to come and stay with you from the day before you're due to go? Just thinking then the changeover might be smoother!
