When I was at the vet with ZoE when she was just a few months old (I think she was getting either her puppy shots or rabies shots), I talked to a lady there whose lil dog had died in a car crash riding in a console seat when both front air bags deployed. That has scared me away from them.
Unfortunately I'm not able to turn off my passenger airbag, so ZoE has to ride in the backseat. It's a bit of a pain walking around and strapping her in there everytime, but at least she's safer.
