Help ME Mama !
When not doing my volunteer days with doggies or Alzheimers patients, as you know, I am at the computer writing. My gang each has a preferred place to nap when Mama writes. Well Tuesday, Abba was not content with his usual spot and insisted on being in my lap. Gracie was not happy but, took Abba's spot and glared at us with a true bitchy attitude. Abba kept licking my moving wrists which was annoying. I softly scolded him with, ' no kisses Baby Boy'. He did his funny, whine yodel sounds and gently put his teeth on my wrist. Not really a nip, just teeth touching top and bottom of my wrist. I said 'Now Abba, what are you doing ?' Still holding my wrist, he looked up at me, let go then promptly rolled onto his back, and held his mouth open. I looked at him, baffled what was going on ? Gracie snorted and jumped up into my lap too. Abba did not move or jump down to give the boss her normal place of honor. Gracie pawed at Abba's face and made her growly throat sounds when she gripes. Then she looked at me as if to say, Well ? What are you going to do ? I really looked at Abba, his mouth was still open and I could see something black on one of his teeth. I I ran my finger over the tooth and there was something stuck between two teeth. I wiggled it, but it was stuck tight. I took him to the bathroom and laid him on a towel on the counter. The other three had followed to see what was going to happen. Abba licked his lips a few times , like I do when I am waiting on the dentist to give me a shot. He did not try to get up or close his mouth, it was rather weird. I took my tweezers and got a firm grip on the black thing I rocked it, and pulled it toward myself. It did not budge. I rolled Abba over and reversed the tweezer and pulled toward the roof of his mouth. A black, V shaped, sliver of wood pulled free. Abba gave a few tentative licks and with his lip curled up like an Elvis impersonator, before bit down experimentally. With his little nub wagging, he gave me happy chin kisses. I put him down and they all ran back into my office each took their own usual place. I didn't really think about their odd behavior, until you reminded me. Wow ! Yorkies are Amazing. aren't they ?
